These two tools are primarily controlled by a Basis or Fiori Administrator. However, the end users are also given a free hand to make SAP Fiori customization to meet their needs. This flexibility simplifies the user experience and improves the productivity as well

How to customize SAP Fiori Launchpad using SAP Fiori Launchpad Designer Tool?

SAP Fiori Launchpad can be customized with the help of SAP Launchpad Designer Tool. With this tool, cusers can create custom catalogs and groups, choose from a list of tiles which may vary from one app to another, you can also define the app target mappings. How to customize SAP Fiori Launchpad using UI Theme Designer?

Follow the below steps and try the options suggested below:
Step 1: Login to SAP GUI system
Step 2: Open the T-code /ui5/theme_designer URL for Theme Designer <https://:/sap/bc/theming/theme-designer?sap-client=>
Step 3: This opens the UI Theme Designer page in the browser

Step 4: Click on “Open” button to enter the target application that you wish to edit.

Step 5: You can edit the launchpad home screen or any specific application
Here I have used “Approve Requisition” app URL and this opens the application screen in the theme designer.

There are few options where basis administrator can completely change the look and feel of the SAP Fiori Launchpad. Look at the options listed below:

Option 1 : Change Background color, Background Gradient color, Text color, Link color and few more. You can either use the available color or go to Color palette and create new colors of your choice.

For the End Users:

When you as an end users opens the launchpad, you can see pre-defined contents divided into groups that are assigned to you by an administrator. Under each group, you can access tiles that represent business applications.

How end users can personalise their SAP Fiori Launchpad Homepage?

Option 1: You can rename, move, delete, reset and also create new groups.
Click on the “Personalize Homepage” icon on the launchpad bottom of the right corner to perform the following activities.

1. To remove a tile from the group, just tap on the app tile and click on “Remove” button .

To move the app from one group to another group, click on “Move” button. It popup the below screen, choose the group from the list and move the app.

To change the app title, subtitle and to add an information to the app, click on “Settings” button.

To create a new group, click on “Add Group” button and give the name for the group.

Option 2: You can add tiles to the existing groups or to the new group.

The launchpad provides you with a tile catalog, which displays all the tiles that you have access to. Each tile will have either the “Add” icon or “Tick” icon.

fiori-launchpad This icon represents that the list has been already assigned to some group.

Select the group to which you want to add a tile, click icon to open the tile catalog or open the tile catalog directly from the group panel by clicking on this icon .

Choose the tile catalog from the dropdownlist.

Click on the app tile icon. A popup box “Add Tile to Groups” will open and you can choose the group and click on “Ok”.

Option 3: You can choose to set different theme to the launchpad.

In the header bar, click or tap the icon and click on “User Preferences”.

In the “User Preferences” dialog box, click on the “Theme” drop down list and select the desired theme of your choice.

Choose ”Ok”to save your changes.
